 Kaempferia galanga is a small, stemless perennial herb, commonly known as Cekur, Kencur, aromatic ginger, sand ginger, cutcherry, resurrection lily or rhizome. Usually for local use as a medicine and food as a spice, especially in Thai cuisine. The young leaves can be eaten raw, steamed, in curries or cooked with chilli paste.

Water: Water when soil feels dry to the touch, do not over-water.

Fertiliser: Keep your plant in top form by feeding it every few weeks with a dilute solution of liquid fertiliser or sprinkling solid fertiliser over the soil.
