Garcinia Subelliptica is tropical evergreen trees of the genus Garcinia native to Taiwan, the Philippines, and Okinawa. The trees are upright, with strong trunks and dense foliage, and are resistant to wind and salt damage, making them considered windbreaks. In the spring and rainy seasons, the spike inflorescences are extended to produce small pale yellow five-petaled flowers. Leaves are yellow-green, fleshy, cortical, small elliptical, and attached to a paired growth. A yellow dye can be obtained from the bark of the tree.
