Episcia, commonly known as the "flame violet," is a genus of flowering plants in the family Gesneriaceae. Here are some key points about them:

Characteristics
Leaves: Episcia has attractive, fuzzy leaves that are often variegated, featuring shades of green, silver, and burgundy.
Flowers: The flowers are tubular and come in various colors, including red, orange, and yellow. They typically bloom in clusters and can last for several weeks.
Care Tips
Light: They thrive in bright, indirect light but can also tolerate lower light conditions. Direct sunlight can scorch their leaves.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of the soil feels dry.
Humidity: High humidity is beneficial; a humidity level of 50% or more is ideal. Consider using a humidity tray or misting.
Temperature: They prefer warm temperatures, ideally between 65°F to 75°F (18°C to 24°C).
Potting
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, often a blend designed for African violets or Gesneriads.
Repotting: Repot every couple of years or when they outgrow their pots, ideally in the spring.
Propagation
Leaf Cuttings: Episcia can be propagated from leaf cuttings, which should be placed in a moist medium until roots develop.
Episcia plants can be a beautiful addition to your indoor garden, with their colorful blooms and attractive foliage.
