Tulbaghia violacea, known as society garlic is a species of flowering plant in the family Amaryllidaceae. Also commonly called Chinese chives because the plant is grown extensively in China for culinary purposes. The leaves, flowers/flower buds, and bulbs can be eaten raw or cooked. The juice of the plant is used as a moth repellent.

Fertiliser:Â Keep your plant in top form by feeding it every few weeks with a dilute solution of liquid fertiliser or sprinkling solid fertiliser over the soil.
