Gardenia tubifera, also called golden gardenia, is a species of flowering small tree in the genus Gardenia, native to Asia. It is a small tree, growing to a height of 2–4 m high with a spread of 1–2 m. Its flowers are white to pale yellow, but finally turning to intense orange. For a tropical climate it maybe of the best looking shrub we can grow. The shiny dark green leaves contrast great with the deep golden flowers that fill the air with its fragrant perfume.
